I think edges are important in photography because:
- they create a boundary to what you can see
- it makes the viewer wonder what's around the edge of the photo
- because it gives the round earth an edge
- it makes the earth look flatter
- because you can place the point of focus as close or as far as you want
reflections
There was a time when we thought it was just enough to photograph objects at eye level but then we began to move around, to climb mountains, to soar in airplanes and drop to the bottom of the sea. An we took our camera with us everywhere, recording whatever we saw.

this was my answer to them
(q1) i think these pictures were made by slowly composing cuts in paper, the one on the top was possibly made with a pinhole camera due to the year it was taken in which was 1929, and the one on the bottom was made with a portable camera also due to the year it was made in 2008 using a black and white option on a digital camera (likely to be a cannon).
(q2) in the 1st picture (on the top) there are a lot of curved cuts and not many straight lines also most of the lines/curves have a point of contact. on the bottom (picture 2) there is only straight lines and a few more points of contact than the 1st picture also the way that they are composed are very different because the bottom picture all of the lines are central to the picture compared to the 1st picture where they are everywhere.
(q3) in the pictures the light differentiation is very different because on the 1st picture the light is coming from the side creating the shadow effect and on the 2nd picture the light is from above making the shadows come from the slits in the paper.
(q4)
picture 1 . picture 2
(1)sad (1)simple
(2)scary (2)open
(3)mysterious (3)obvious
(q5 conclusion) i prefer the second picture because it is very simple and is is easy to understand and the simple things can be the best ones.
